How it works
- Create a tag. Sign in with your email — no password — and you get a unique code with a printable label, free.
- Stick it on. Print a small sticker for the lid or the base, and a spare for the charger — the part that wanders off on its own.
- Get connected. Whoever finds it scans the sticker or types the code and sends you a message. You're notified by email, you reply, and you arrange the hand-off.
Your details stay private
Messages travel through ifyoufind.me, not directly between you and the finder, so your email address and phone number are never shared — and you never see theirs unless they choose to share a way to reach them. A name label on a lid introduces you to the whole café. A code introduces you to no one — until someone actually needs to reach you.

Common questions
Is this like Find My, or a tracker? No. It has no idea where your laptop is — no GPS, no Bluetooth. It gives an honest finder a private way to reach you, and it works even when the device is dead.
Can I use it on a work laptop? The tag is just a printed sticker — nothing installs. If the machine is employer-managed, check your workplace's rules before tagging it.
What does the finder see? The note you wrote — "Please get in touch and I'll come collect it" — and a box to message you. Your account details are never shown; the finder sees only what you choose to put in the note.
What does it cost? Personal use is free: you get an allowance of codes that grows over time, and you're never charged for going over it.
