How it works
- Create a tag. Sign in with your email — no password — and you get a unique code with a printable label, free.
- Add it to the collar. Print a small label for a tag capsule, or have the short address — ifyoufind.me/YOURCODE — engraved on any blank tag at a pet shop.
- Reunite. Whoever finds your pet scans the tag or types the code and sends you a message. You're notified by email, you reply privately, and you arrange to bring them home.
Your details stay private
Messages travel through ifyoufind.me, not directly between you and the finder, so your email address and phone number are never shared — and you never see theirs unless they choose to share a way to reach them. A traditional engraved tag publishes your number to anyone close enough to read it; this one shows a code, and the conversation happens through us.

Good to know
- Keep the microchip. This doesn't replace a microchip or a licence tag — it adds what they lack: a way for a finder to message you on the spot, without waiting for a vet or shelter to scan a chip.
- Update it without re-engraving. Moved, or want to change the note a finder sees? Edit it any time — the tag on the collar stays the same.
- No app for the finder. Any phone browser works — nothing to install at the exact moment someone's hands are full of your dog.
Common questions
Does this replace my pet's ID tag or microchip? No, and it shouldn't: keep the microchip and any tag your local rules require. This adds an instant, private message channel for whoever actually finds your pet.
What does the finder see? The note you chose to write — "This is Maple, she's friendly, please get in touch" — and a box to message you. Never your phone number, email or address.
What if the tag gets chewed, wet or lost? Print another. Codes never expire, and you can reprint labels whenever you like.
What does it cost? Personal use is free: you get an allowance of codes that grows over time, and you're never charged for going over it.
