About ifyoufind.me

Last updated 4 July 2026.

A privacy-preserving “if found, return to” service to reunite a lost item with its owner without either side having to expose who they are.

Put a tag on the things you'd hate to lose: keys, a laptop, a bag, a bike. Each tag carries a short code and a link. If someone finds your item, they enter the code or scan the tag and can send you a message: no app to install, no account to create.

How it works

  1. Tag it. Generate a code, print a sticker or tag, and attach it to your item.
  2. Someone finds it. They visit the link or type the code and leave you a message.
  3. You reconnect. We notify you, and you reply through the conversation privately.

Want to see a return play out, step by step? See How it works.

Privacy by design

The finder never sees your email or phone number, and you never see theirs unless they choose to share a way to reach them. Messages travel through us, not directly between you, so a lost-and-found moment doesn't have to mean handing a stranger your contact details. It's the approach regulators call data protection by design and default: building privacy into how the service works rather than bolting it on. See our Privacy policy for the specifics.

Read our Terms of Service for the rules of using the Service, or get in touch if you have questions or feedback.
