How it works
- Create a tag. Sign in with your email — no password — and you get a unique code with a printable label, free.
- Add it to the collar. Print a tiny label for a collar capsule or charm, or have the short address — ifyoufind.me/YOURCODE — engraved on any blank tag at a pet shop.
- Bring them home. Whoever spots your cat scans the tag or types the code and sends you a message. You're notified by email, you reply privately, and you arrange to bring them home.
Your details stay private
Messages travel through ifyoufind.me, not directly between you and the finder, so your email address and phone number are never shared — and you never see theirs unless they choose to share a way to reach them. A collar is read by any stranger who scoops your cat up; a code tells them nothing about you — it just gives them a private way to say "found them".

Good to know
- Looks lost, isn't. An indoor cat three gardens away looks like a stray. The tag says someone's waiting — and lets the finder reach you before anyone drives to a shelter.
- Keep the microchip. A chip is essential, but it needs a scanner at a vet or shelter. The tag works on the pavement, from any phone — and it's worth checking your chip registry stays current too.
- Breakaway-friendly. It's a printed label, not a dangling gadget: almost no weight, nothing to snag.
Common questions
Does this replace the microchip? No — keep the microchip. This adds an instant, private message channel for whoever finds your cat, no scanner required.
Will it interfere with a breakaway collar? A printed label or small capsule adds almost no weight — but collars differ, so check yours still releases freely with anything you add to it.
What does the finder see? The note you wrote — "This is Juniper, she's indoor-only, please get in touch" — and a box to message you. Your account's email and phone number are never shown; the finder learns only what you choose to put in the note.
What does it cost? Personal use is free: you get an allowance of codes that grows over time, and you're never charged for going over it.
